Montreux Christmas Market 2026: Montreux Riviera Noël

Montreux Riviera Noël puts wooden chalets along the Lake Geneva promenade, with a flying Santa (Samichlaus) every evening, and runs from 20 November to 24 December 2026. It is one of the largest and most praised markets in Switzerland, but the narrow promenade is very crowded on evenings and weekends, so go on a weekday during the day.

    One of the biggest and most praised markets in Switzerland, with crafts and a view of the lake. In the evening and at weekends, however, the narrow promenade is completely overcrowded, and some experienced dangerous crushes; some find the offer too focused on street food.

    A must-see, but during the day on a weekday. Avoid weekend evenings.

    Getting there and parking

    • By train (SBB, often discounted); by car to a park-and-ride such as Chailly, with a free shuttle at weekends. Bus lines 201 and 204 are free at weekends from 13:00.

    Worth knowing

    • The quays are flat and wheelchair accessible; disabled parking at each location.
