Christmas Markets in Barcelona 2026

Barcelona's classic Christmas market is the Fira de Santa Llúcia in front of the Cathedral, with about 300 stalls since 1786 (2025: 28 November - 23 December, 10:00-21:00). Nadal al Port Vell is the nearest thing to a Central European market, by the sea (28 Nov 2025 - 6 Jan 2026), and the Fira de Reis on Gran Via is for Three Kings gifts. Dates shown are the latest confirmed editions (2025).

A must in Barcelona for anyone setting up a nativity scene: you find everything, from moss to figurines, and the caganer stalls are the most photographed. The downside is the crowds, and at peak times you move along as if in a demonstration. One visitor mentions homeless people in the surrounding area.

The best part is the setting, with the Sagrada Família as a backdrop, and some nativity craftsmen who have been here for decades. Several visitors find it smaller and duller than Santa Llúcia: repeated stalls, little music and little food on offer.

Worth it if you are already going to the Sagrada Família. For buying nativity items, Santa Llúcia is better.
