  Visitors praise the cosiness: beautiful decorations, the smell of roasted almonds, music and H.C. Andersen walking around. Many, however, find the market smaller than expected, with mostly food, souvenirs and slightly high prices, and locals on Reddit call it German sausages and glühwein in Alpine huts.

  An atmospheric stop in the inner city. Come for the cosiness and the children's Santa, not for shopping.

  The reviews mostly date from the market's time at Kongens Nytorv: some praised local producers and the Christmas lights, others missed the old, bigger market. On Reddit locals call the inner-city markets touristy and warn about stalls that take payment in euros, so always pay in kroner.

  The most central Christmas market in Copenhagen. Good for a walk with gløgg and skating, less so for gift shopping.

  Guests call it original, alternative and well organised, and the most varied Christmas market in the city. On Saturday there are queues and it is very crowded, so several recommend a weekday. On Reddit it is the only Copenhagen market that many locals actually recommend.

  Locals on Reddit are divided: some praise that the stalls are run by local eateries, others miss the old round skating rink around the equestrian statue and call the setup commercial.

  Mostly a skating and food place. Come for the ice and the lights on Kongens Nytorv.
