Leipzig Christmas Market 2026

The Leipzig Christmas market is spread across the whole Old Town, a few minutes' walk from the main station, with free entry (next edition 24 November - 23 December 2026; hours Sunday to Thursday 11-21, Friday and Saturday until 22). It includes the Naschmarkt, a medieval market, a Finnish village, a Tyrolean market and a fairytale forest, and visitors are surprised how large it is - plan at least half a day. For something alternative, the covered Feinkost Christmas market (Advent weekends only) suits gifts with character, and the Herr Kauzig winter market in the west of the city is a relaxed spot with a fire pit.

    Many are surprised how extensive the market is - fine with a pushchair, with different themed areas. Very crowded on Fridays and at weekends. Some Leipzig residents miss Christmas music and find the offering the same every year.
