Colmar Christmas Markets 2026

Colmar's Christmas markets are spread across five to six squares of the illuminated old town, linked on foot, with a children's market in Little Venice. The 2026 edition runs from 23 November to 29 December. Many visitors prefer it to Strasbourg, but Saturdays are just as crowded and the chalets close early on weekdays.

    Visitors are almost unanimous about the decorations and lights, especially at nightfall, and enjoy moving from one market to another in the old town. The complaints: crowds worthy of Strasbourg on Saturdays, chalets that close around 19:00 on weekdays and food judged expensive.

    The ideal gateway to the Colmar markets. Go on a weekday in the late afternoon for the illuminations.

    Getting there and parking

    • Rapp underground car park, a short walk away.
    • Park-and-ride at the exhibition centre (about €3 a day according to visitors) with a free shuttle to the centre.

    • On weekdays the chalets close around 19:00, so arrive before then.
    • Pushchair accessible.

    Five to six markets in the illuminated old town: Dominicains, Ancienne Douane, Jeanne d'Arc, Place des Six Montagnes Noires and the children's market in Little Venice.

    What visitors say

    Many prefer it to Strasbourg: well-distributed markets, magnificent decorations and a pleasant stroll from square to square. But the crowds are comparable to Strasbourg on Saturdays, more and more stalls are devoted to food, and on weekdays the chalets close early (around 19:00).

    For many, the most beautiful market in Alsace. Come early in the morning or on a weekday, and stay for the illuminations at nightfall.
