Christmas Markets in Greece 2026: Athens Christmas Villages and Guide
Greece's Christmas markets covered here are in Athens, where Christmas villages are more common than traditional markets. The best free one is Xmas Village Attica in Pedion tou Areos park (28 November 2025 to 7 January 2026), and the city's own market is on Kotzia Square next to City Hall (20 December 2025 to 6 January 2026). The Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center adds an ice rink and a market, paid indoor parks such as the Christmas Factory and Santa Claus Kingdom suit small children, and many suburbs run their own free villages.

Parents of children under 7 say the children have a good time, the space is warm and the unlimited-games wristband is good value. But many describe it as an indoor funfair with very little Christmas atmosphere: expensive for a family, with token-operated games on top of the ticket, queues at weekends and some activities closed on some days.
Only for small children and on a weekday - if you want a Christmas village, choose Pedion tou Areos instead.

The ice rink gets good words (clean, not crowded, about 10 EUR an hour in 2025). Opinions on the rest of the village are split: in 2024 many compared it to a German market, in 2025 several found it poorer, with few half-closed huts and expensive food.
Worth it mainly for the ice rink; do not expect a big market.
