Vancouver Christmas Market
The city's German-style market on Jack Poole Plaza by the Olympic Cauldron: wooden huts, a carousel, mulled wine and German food, with the harbour and North Shore mountains behind.
🧒 With kids✨ Date night🎉 With friendsWhat's there
- Glühwein in a keepsake mug
- Carousel and Santa's workshop
- German food row (Gourmetstrasse) with vegetarian options
- Waterfront views from Jack Poole Plaza
What visitors sayGoogle 3.8 ★ · 4,031 reviews
People love the decorations and the European feel, the pretzels and sausage rolls, and the Krampus nights. The common complaints are the entry fee, food prices (good atmosphere, average food) and crowds at weekends. Several recommend arriving around 4 pm to see it in daylight and lit up.
Worth it if you want the full German-market experience downtown and don't mind paying to get in — go on a weekday afternoon and buy the cheaper pre-sale ticket. If you only want free browsing, the Shipyards across the water is the better deal.
- Dates
- November 13 – December 24, 2025
- Cost
- Timed tickets, from about $8 pre-sale ($12–14 standard); children 6 and under free
Getting there and parking
- SkyTrain to Waterfront Station (Expo, Millennium, Canada lines), about a 10-minute walk
- Underground parking at Canada Place with direct access to the plaza; street parking is limited and metered
- Drop-off zone at the foot of Howe Street
Worth knowing
- No pets — only service animals
- Step-free entry with ramps for wheelchairs and strollers
- Once inside you can stay as long as you like

Shipyards Christmas Market
Around 70 wooden stalls at the Shipyards on the North Vancouver waterfront, with live music, an outdoor skating rink and a view back across the harbour to downtown — reached by SeaBus from Waterfront Station.
🧒 With kids✨ Date night🎉 With friendsWhat's there
- Free entry
- Outdoor skating rink
- Santa's chalet with free photos
- European food stalls — French, Polish, Portuguese, Dutch — and mulled wine
What visitors sayGoogle 4.4 ★ · 112 reviews
Visitors keep comparing it favourably with the paid market downtown: free, roomier and with more varied European food. The rink, the city views and free Santa photos get mentions; the downsides are weekend crowds, long lines at the trendy food stalls and prices at the booths.
The best value Christmas market in Metro Vancouver — a must if you're in town. Take the SeaBus, come on a weekday or right at opening, and bring layers: it's on the water.

What visitors sayGoogle 4.2 ★ · 110 reviews
Regulars love the quality and variety and spend two to three hours. Evening tickets are about half price and much quieter; full price and downtown parking (up to $30) draw complaints, and some find the goods expensive.
Worth it for serious gift shopping — go on a weekday evening on the cheaper ticket and take transit rather than paying convention-centre parking.
