    Christmas streets

    Kolkata's Park Street is lit end to end and closed to traffic in the evenings during the Kolkata Christmas Festival; a few minutes away, the Anglo-Indian quarter of Bow Barracks strings fairy lights across its red-brick buildings. In Bengaluru the crowds gather on Brigade Road and Church Street on Christmas Eve.

    Mumbai's Bandra Wonderland turns the Carter Road promenade into a free Christmas wonderland with a giant tree every evening from 24 December to 1 January — expect big crowds and come early.
