Christmas gifts for gamers: 21 ideas in £
A gift for a gamer needs one check: which console or platform do they use? Once you know, games, controllers and headsets are safe. These ideas are sorted by price, and each says which system it is for. If you do not know, give a game that works on more than one.

Prices are exact shelf prices in pounds, read from John Lewis and The Works on 5 October 2026: we opened each product page and checked the price, the currency and that the item was in stock. Prices move with sales and Black Friday, so check at the shop. The links open a search at John Lewis, Argos or The Works, with no affiliate tracking: if a link ever earns us a commission, it will not change what we recommend.
How to choose
- Check the console before you buy: Switch and Switch 2 games are not interchangeable.
- A second controller is an easy present for a household with two players.
- A headset is a gift that improves every game they play.
