Prairie Lights 2026 in Grand Prairie
The big one. You roll through two miles of lakeside park past about four million lights, then park and get out for the holiday village: rides, hot food and a lot of photos. Families make an evening of it rather than a quick drive.

Worth it — if you go on a weeknight and are in line before it opens at 6. On a Saturday in December, either buy the Fast Pass or pick somewhere else.
What visitors say
Families who come back every year love the length of it — longer than any other drive in DFW — and the walk-through light forest in the village, which kids rave about. Most say the $50 general ticket is worth it; several say the pricier deluxe ticket isn't, because it doesn't skip the line. The big complaint is the queue: on busy December nights people report two to four hours to get in, and some gave up and turned around.
- Two-mile drive past 5+ million lights
- Holiday village you walk around after
- Carnival-style rides
- Hot food and treats
- Plenty of photo spots
- Fast Pass lane on busy nights
Getting there and getting in
- On busy nights a Fast Pass ticket gets a dedicated entry lane.
- The park posts weather and capacity closures on its social media — check before you leave.
Worth knowing
- Pets can ride along in the car, but they aren't allowed in the Holiday Village or the walk-through, and there's no grass by the parking area for a dog break.
- Vans for 9–30 people and buses pay a higher group rate — check the ticket page before booking a church or office outing.

- Every night from November 26 to December 31, 2026, from 6 to 10 pm, according to the City of Grand Prairie.
- How much is Prairie Lights per car?
- $50 per car for 2026. Buy online at prairielights.org — the Fast Pass costs more and puts you in a separate lane.

- How long does Prairie Lights take?
- The drive itself is 2 miles at a crawl. Add the Holiday Village and most families spend about two hours; the wait in line on a Saturday can add as much again.
- Is Prairie Lights worth it?
- Yes if you go on a weeknight and are in line before 6. It's one of the biggest drive-thru shows in Texas, and the village makes it more than a drive.
