  About the regular Catalina Bay market: people love the waterfront setting, the walkway and the food — bagels, wood-fired pizza, pastries, the fish market in the pavilion — and that dogs are welcome. Complaints are that it's smaller than expected, heavy on sweet food with few vegetable stalls, pricey (around $7.50 for a large coffee), and that parking gets tight on sunny weekends.

  A good family morning by the water — take the ferry and make a day of it on the Hobsonville Point coastal walk.
