Grand Rapids has Michigan's biggest European-style Christmas market: the Christkindl Markt fills the grounds of the Downtown Market on Ionia Avenue from mid-November to Christmas Eve, with 60-plus wooden stalls, a glühwein hall and curling lanes. From 2026 a second chalet market opens a few blocks north at Studio Park, so the two make one downtown holiday walk.
